Description
The Morrison is a dog-themed gastropub in Atwater Village that has earned a national reputation for how well it treats its four-legged patrons. This Scottish-inspired pub (complete with plaid décor and a cozy bar) offers all the usual gastropub perks for humans – craft beers, award-winning burgers, whiskey flights, and a popular happy hour – but it goes far beyond the norm for pets.
The Morrison boasts what is arguably the most dog-friendly patio in the United States, complete with an entire menu just for dogs.
Pups can dine on dishes like the “Where’s the Beef?” (chopped hamburger with rice) or “Frankenweinie” (sliced hot dogs and rice), served in dog bowls on silver platters, with a side of biscuits and water.
The pub’s founders are dog owners themselves and it shows – from the cheeky “#1 Dog Friendly Patio” banner to the way staff fuss over every canine guest with treats and belly rubs. The atmosphere is laid-back and friendly, with many local regulars bringing their dogs for “yappy hour” pints. In short, The Morrison is a must-visit for dog lovers, combining a casual neighborhood bar vibe with over-the-top pet hospitality

Special Offers
Dogs welcome on the patio at all times – in fact, dogs are a core part of The Morrison’s identity. There is no size restriction (Great Danes to Chihuahuas all welcome) and no limit on number of dogs per table (within reason). Leashes are required, but dogs may be taken off-leash momentarily for photos or to eat from their dog bowl. (Indoor seating is for humans only, but since the patio is fully covered and heated, it’s comfortable year-round.) Cats are not commonly seen here, but well-behaved cats on leash or in strollers could be allowed on the patio in a quiet corner. The Morrison’s inclusive “All dogs welcome” policy earned it accolades as LA’s most dog-friendly restaurant.
The Morrison’s famous Dog Menu offers affordable entrees for pups ($6-$8) so they can feast with you.
Every dog meal is served on a silver platter with an array of dog biscuits – a fun, photo-worthy presentation.
Water bowls are provided as soon as you sit down, and refilled diligently. The pub often hosts pet-themed events (like dog Halloween costume contests and “Paw-tron” tequila parties) and even celebrates dog birthdays – you can arrange a “pawty” and they’ll bring out a special treat with a candle. The staff greets every dog by name on return visits, offering lots of attention (and usually a treat or two) to make them feel like VIPs
