Key pet-friendly tips for visitors.

– Bring a leash (max length ~2 metres) and ensure your dog is under control at all times.
– Stick to official, marked trails — this helps protect wildlife and keeps both you and your pet safe.
– Pick up after your pet — even if there’s no bin nearby. Leave-no-trace matters.
– In winter, check ahead to ensure the trail you want is open for dogs — many ski/snowshoe trails are off-limits to pets then.
– No dogs allowed in campgrounds (except service animals).

– There are seasonal rules: from April 15 to November 30, most marked trails allow dogs on leashes. In the winter (December 1 to April 14) the allowance is limited to a few designated trails.

– Key trails open to dogs on leash: Sugarbush Trail (near Visitor Centre), Lauriault Trail (Mackenzie King Estate), Pioneers Trail, Capital Pathway.

– For safety and conservation: dogs must be on-leash (leash/harness max 2 metres) and you may bring no more than 2 pets at a time.

– Some areas are off-limits to dogs (even on leash): beaches, picnic areas, certain ecologically fragile trails (e.g., Pink Lake, King Mountain, Luskville Falls).
